Sisters and Brothers,
We are going to hold our General Union Membership Meeting March16th, 2021 at 6:00pm, 1330 Conway Street. Please no food or beverages: no drawings or items to purchase or donation, no social gathering on the property before, during, or after the meeting without maintaining social distancing. The meeting will be limited to the first 80 people. All members attending will need to wear a mask. If you are not feeling well, have a fever, or are in a vulnerable group, please do not attend. For questions and concerns, please call 651-776-4239. During this trying times I appreciate your understanding/patience, with lots of uncertainty, underemployment, unemployment, and anxiety. Stay safe and Please comply with the CDC guidelines

Contract Negotiations Update  - Posted February 13, 2021

Sisters and Brothers,

Our Rank and File Committee will hold its February meeting by way of Zoom on February 23, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. The topic will be upcoming contract negotiations and proposed changes that you would like to see made to our Inside Agreement that is up May 1, 2021. Please give some thought to things you would like to see changed between now and the February 23rd meeting. Please email April apettis@ibew110.org or call 651-776-4239 ext. 703 and if no answer, leave a message with any ideas or proposed changes you want put on the agenda or attend the meeting and bring it up during new business. Email April apettis@ibew110.org anytime between now and February 22nd, to receive the Zoom meeting invite or call her at 651-776-4239 ext. 703 for the Zoom phone number to attend by phone only. This will be the last opportunity for input before contract negotiations start with the contractors. You do not have to be on the Rank and File committee to attend this Zoom meeting. Please share this information with any of our Sisters or Brothers you think may be interested in attending.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and out of respect for member safety, our Executive Board, with the permission of the IBEW 6th District International Vice President, have canceled our January 19, 2021 General Membership Union Meeting.

 

Our Rank and File Committee will hold its January meeting by way of Zoom on January 26, 2021 at 4:00pm to discus and accept proposed changes to our Inside Agreement which is up May 1, 2021. Federal CARES ACT

  The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act. H.R. 748) is an $2 trillion, 880-page bill that passes the U.S. Senate, 96-0.  It's still awating a House vote on Friday (3/27/2020) and the president's signature.  Provides a $1,200 direct payment to many Americans and $500 for each dependend child.  This is phased out for those making over $75,000 ($150,000 for married filing jointly) by subtracting 5% of Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) against the total credit.  (Generally, those with AGI over $99,000 for an individual and $198,000 for married couples with no dependents are ineligible.)

Expands unemployment insurance to 39 weeks (through December 31, 2020), and provides temporary "Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation" of $600 per week (through July 31, 2020), which is in addition to and the same time as regular state and federal UI benefits.
