remain responsible for the cost of books and consumables.   All fees have to be paid before you are considered registered for a class.

           You may now register on-line for classes at www.ibew110.org/jatc.  Fill out the information required on the registration form.  If  the class you are registering for has a book or material fee you need to include your credit card number and amount you are charging on it.  Make sure you hit the submit button located on the bottom of the form.   You will receive a confirmation letter two weeks prior to class.  You may call the JATC office prior to that if you want to confirm your class.

       This year was the busiest year on record for continuing education at our JATC.  Approximately 2500 students attended classes throughout the year.  23 separate Code of Excellence classes were offered for our membership this past year.  As more employers require the Code of Excellence class for their jobs we will add additional classes.  We will continue to put on the job line any additional classes not listed in this newsletter as far as Code of Excellence, OSHA or Safety in the Workplace.

           The Minnesota Electrical Licensing and Inspection Unit has advised our JATC that they will no longer be  accepting Continuing Education Credits in fractions of an hour.  Our code

classes have previously been 3.25 hours each in length. Therefore, we have restructured our code classes for 4 hours per night for 4 nights.  Under the old system we submitted all five  code classes under one separate identification number and submitted the entire code session to the state upon completion.  They now require that we submit each course session separately with separate identification numbers for each night.  It makes more work for our staff but will be more efficient administratively for the Minnesota Electrical Licensing and Inspection Unit.

           Lastly, the JATC committee has decided not to charge an enrollment fee to our members for classes.  Members will
