Text Box: Text Box: TRANSFORMERS:
This course focuses on introducing journeymen students to the National Electrical Code in the installation and protection of various types of electrical transformers including single phase, three phase, autotransformer (buck-boost), control and instrument (current and voltage) transformers utilizing the NEC and accepted field installation practices.  Service conductor installation procedures covered in NEC Article 230 will be taught as well as Switchboard and Panel board requirements in Article 408.  This class has been submitted for 12 code hours and 4 technical hours by the Electrical Licensing and Inspection Unit.  This is a 6 night class/3 hours per night. The instructor is Mike Gruber. WELDING—(BASIC):		
The JATC will be offering a 7 night basic Welding class/3 hours per night.  The instructor is Rick Dahlstrom who was in charge of the Welding program at St. Paul College and has recently retired.  He will be teaching Stick and MIG Welding.  Included is Acetylene and Plasma cutting techniques.  We have added two additional welding units and can now accommodate 7 students. The JATC committee has changed the registration fee policy for the coming school year for Local 110 members.  You must pay the $30.00 fee for the first class you sign up for this fall or winter.  If you take more than one class between August 1, 2011 and July 31, 2012 you will not have to pay the $30.00 tuition fee for any 
additional classes.  You still have to pay any book or material fees if applicable.
Local 292 and Local 343 still need to pay $30.00 per class, plus books or material fees if applicable.
