Life’s best moments are even more satisfying when you’re feeling good. St. Paul Electrical Workers’ “Plugged Into Wellness” program gives you the resources you need to get healthy and stay that way. You get personal coaching from healthcare experts. Asthma, COPD, heart disease, heart failure, depression and diabetes programs. Plus a 24-hour nurseline and online life and health resources. And, just like last year, the program is free to all active (non-Medicare) members of the St. Paul Electrical Workers Health Plan and their spouses.
On February 15, the St. Paul Electrical Workers Board of Trustees will host the annual Wellness Open House at the General Membership Hall. The event will run from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. and all active (non-Medicare) members and their spouses are invited to attend. You will receive a postcard invitation in the mail in early February. Bring this postcard with you to the Open House – it’s your raffle ticket for a chance to win a Wii Fit, a fitness video game, and other prizes throughout the day. Refreshments will be available throughout the day as well.
During the Wellness Open House, you and your spouse will each receive a $15 Cub Food gift card for taking an online health assessment (or a $10 card for taking the paper version). The health assessment is a set of questions about your health and lifestyle. The results will give you a snap-shot of your current health status, areas where you are doing well and those that could use more attention.
This year we’re also offering a free screening (biometrics) check-up. The screening is a simple blood test to check your cholesterol, glucose and triglycerides, and measurement of your blood pressure and body mass index. You and your spouse will each receive a $15 Cub Food gift card if you take the free screening. Sign-up in advance for the screening to schedule a time that’s best for you. To sign-up, call Carlene at 651-776-4239 (toll-free 888-439-4239), ext. 750.
Health Coaches from the “Plugged into Wellness” program will be on hand at the Wellness Open House to answer questions you may have about the program, your results from the biometric screening and health assessment and options you may consider for moving forward.
There will also be representatives from Walman Optical to discuss with you the Health Plan’s prescription safety eyewear program including a display of sample frames on and information about Walman Optical products.
If you are unable to attend the event, you and your spouse still can earn your gift cards for completing the health assessment by May 31, 2011. You can take it online through the secure Plugged into Wellness website or request a paper copy at the benefits office.
